In the first half of 2026, Kazakhstan produced 35,100 tons of ice cream, up 47.4% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Shin-Line company supplies about 50% of Kazakhstan's domestic ice cream market and up to 95% of the country's ice cream exports. The significant increase in production volume was facilitated by the launch of a new high-tech production complex in the Almaty region, capable of producing up to 350 tons of products per day.
The growth in production volumes directly affected export indicators. In January-May 2026, Kazakhstan exported 8,343 tons of ice cream, 38.5% higher than in the same period last year. At the same time, import volumes amounted to 5,145 tons, increasing by only 7.1%.
Russia remains the main export market for Kazakhstani ice cream. 5,748 tons of products were shipped to this country, accounting for about 69% of total exports and 39.6% more than last year. 2,019 tons were exported to this country, recording a 46.7% increase. This was the highest rate among the main export markets. 498 tons of ice cream were exported to Uzbekistan. In addition, 53 tons were delivered to Tajikistan, 17 tons to Mongolia, and 8 tons to Azerbaijan.
Despite the rapid growth of exports, the import structure remains relatively stable. The main countries supplying ice cream to Kazakhstan are Russia (2,250 tons) and Kyrgyzstan (2,073 tons), accounting for more than 84% of total imports. At the same time, supplies from Belarus increased by 118%, and from Uzbekistan by 78.9%.
