A further decline in prices for new cars in Kazakhstan by the end of 2026 is highly unlikely. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Artur Miskaryan, director of the Agency for Monitoring and Analysis of the Automobile Market, official dealers currently have limited room for further price reductions.

"Will the decline continue? Unlikely, for the simple reason that most dealers are now operating at the limit of their economics," Miskaryan said.

Impact of New Production Facilities

The decline in new car prices in Kazakhstan accelerated after the launch of two major production facilities — Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan and Kia Qazaqstan. The growth of local production was accompanied by increased competition among brands.

In 2026, the number of brands and models available on the market also increased, especially Chinese ones, forcing dealers to revise prices and sales terms.

Current Market Situation

As of July, new passenger cars in Kazakhstan became cheaper by an average of 12.2% year-on-year. In July alone, prices fell by 1% compared to June. Prices have been falling for ten consecutive months.

Forecasts and Expectations

According to Miskaryan's forecast, new car brands and models will appear in Kazakhstan by the end of the year. In addition, the relaunch of leasing for individuals is expected. Thus, opportunities for buyers may expand through new offers and financial instruments, but the expert considers further significant price reductions unlikely.

Used Car Market

He separately noted the situation on the used car market. In July, they became cheaper by 3.8% compared to June. This was the most significant monthly price decline since January 2016. On an annual basis, used cars became cheaper by 7%.

Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that private importers expect car prices in Kazakhstan to rise by 15%.
