The Bureau of National Statistics today, July 6 – on Astana Day, presented interesting data about the capital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
As of June 1, 2026, the population of Astana reached 1,674,699 people. There are more women than men: 884,029 women and 790,670 men.
Across Kazakhstan, 26 people have the name Astana. In 2025, 27,400 babies were born in Astana. Also, the number of children under 18 is 545,000: including 280,000 boys and 265,000 girls, the message says.
According to statistics experts, in the first 5 months of 2026, more than 3,469 marriages were registered in the capital. The average age of an Astana resident is 30.9 years, and life expectancy is 78.8 years (2025 figure).
In addition, there are 31 theaters, 5 museums, and 35 libraries operating in the capital. For the comfort of guests and residents, 24 parks have been established in Astana.
