Next year, Kazakhstan will produce domestic buses under the name 'Astana'. This was announced by the head of Astana Motors, Nurlan Smagulov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At today's government meeting, the exterior and interior of the domestic buses were presented. According to Smagulov, diesel and gas buses will be produced in November of this year. Production of electric buses will begin next year.
'Our partner for the production of electric buses is BYD. Production of electric buses will begin in March 2027,' Smagulov said.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized the need to open a plant of the Chinese company BYD in Kazakhstan. Currently, this company has already opened its production in Uzbekistan.
