Prices for a number of socially significant goods continue to decline in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, over the week the price of onions decreased by 4.3%, carrots – by 2.8%, apples – by 2.5%, cucumbers – by 1.3%, potatoes – by 0.9%, sugar and chicken meat – by 0.5%, bone-in beef – by 0.4%. During the reporting week, prices for mutton, chicken, cottage cheese and cabbage remained unchanged.
In the regional breakdown, deflationary dynamics were observed in a number of cities across the country. The overall level of prices for socially significant food products decreased over the week by 0.4% in Karaganda, by 0.2% in Aktobe and Zhezkazgan, and by 0.1% in Turkestan.
In Astana, Almaty, Kokshetau, Shymkent, Konaev, Pavlodar and Semey, prices remained at the level of the previous week.
The average price of onions across the republic was 142 tenge per kilogram, with the lowest price recorded in Taldykorgan – 107 tenge per kilogram. The average price of carrots across the country was 215 tenge per kilogram, with the lowest price recorded in Pavlodar – 140 tenge per kilogram.
The average price of apples across the republic was 727 tenge per kilogram. The lowest prices were recorded in Shymkent – 554 tenge per kilogram. The average price of tomatoes across the republic was 668 tenge per kilogram. The lowest prices were recorded in Taraz – 412 tenge and in Turkestan – 416 tenge.
