The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan announced that military equipment will move across the territory of three regions as part of CSTO exercises. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
From September 12 to 19, the joint CSTO exercise "Shield-2026" is planned at the "Koktal" training ground in the Zhetysu region. In preparation for the exercise, from September 7 to 30, planned movement of military equipment and personnel will take place in the Almaty, Zhambyl, and Zhetysu regions.
During the exercise, field training will be conducted, including march preparation, unit management, and accomplishment of assigned tasks. The events are carried out in accordance with approved combat training plans of CSTO member states.
The "Shield" exercise is regularly held alternately on the territories of member states.
The Ministry of Defense urged citizens, media representatives, and social media users not to spread unverified information and to rely only on data published in official sources. The ministry reminded that spreading false information and publishing inaccurate data entails liability under the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
