The Bureau of National Statistics has published the exact number of citizens named Abai living in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Currently, 18,961 people named Abai are registered in Kazakhstan. Most of them live in three regions: Astana – 2,186; Turkistan region – 2,008; Almaty city – 1,740.
The oldest Abai in Kazakhstan is 94 years old, and the most common age group is 30-34 years. The number of Abais in this age group is 3,267 people.
In addition, there are 37,844 Ibrahim in Kazakhstan. Among them, there are many whose names are written as "Ibragim" and "Ibrahim".
It is worth noting that last year there were 18,763 people named Abai in Kazakhstan.
