In January-July 2026, Kazakhstan produced 9,143 tons of tea and coffee, the Bureau of National Statistics reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Of the produced volume, 3,829 tons were tea. In the regional breakdown, the main share of tea production belongs to Almaty city – 92.1% (3,528 tons). Almaty city leads among regions in this indicator.
The share of imports accounts for 74.1% of the tonic drink, with 18.3 thousand tons of tea products brought into the country. Over six months, 3.9 thousand tons of tea and coffee were exported. In total, 20.8 thousand tons of products were sold on the domestic market.
The total volume of tea consumption averages about 100 grams per person per month. Among the main tea supplier countries is Kenya, which accounts for 27.2% of imported products. Also, the main volumes of tea are imported from India, Russia, Italy, and China.
