Kazakhstan plans to provide mobile coverage to more than 40,000 km of national and regional highways. To achieve this, over 500 antenna-mast structures and base stations will be built. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Project progress discussed at meeting
The project's progress was discussed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev. Representatives of Transtelecom JSC and mobile operators also attended.
The meeting reviewed the current status of telecommunications infrastructure construction, as well as issues of shared use of the facilities being created by the investor and telecom operators.
Focus on stable radio coverage on highways
Special attention was paid to ensuring stable radio coverage on highways and coordinating work between project participants.
Timelines
Mobile coverage of national highways is planned to be completed by the end of 2026, and regional roads by the end of 2027.
Financing
The project is financed by Transtelecom JSC. No budget funds are planned to be attracted for its implementation.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the Ministry of Digital Development and Transtelecom JSC agreed to provide internet to national and regional highways of Kazakhstan. To this end, it was planned to identify areas without stable coverage — the so-called "white spots" — and build the necessary telecommunications infrastructure.
