Kazakhstan has announced storm warnings for October 27 due to frost, strong wind, fog and ice. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Kazhydromet forecasts, the coldest night will be in Taldykorgan and the center of the Zhetisu region — down to −11 degrees Celsius. In the area of the Alakol lakes, wind gusts will reach 28 meters per second.

Most of the country will see weather without precipitation. At night, rain and snow are expected in the north, center and mountains of the southeast.

«Fogs are expected across the republic, with wind intensification in the south, southeast and southwest of the country, and a dust storm in the south,» the forecasters' report says.

Regional forecast

In the Zhambyl region, frosts down to −3…−8 degrees are expected at night, in Taraz — down to −5…−7. In the Almaty region, temperatures will drop to −1…−6 degrees, in Almaty — to −1…−3, in Konaev — to −2…−4.

In the Zhetisu region, −2 to −7 degrees are forecast, in the center of the region and Taldykorgan — down to −11. In the north and west of the Turkestan region, in the north and center of the Kyzylorda region, frosts down to −3 degrees are expected.

In the area of the Alakol lakes, wind gusts will reach 23–28 meters per second. In the mountains of the Almaty and Zhambyl regions, the mountains and foothills of the Turkestan region, and the center of the Mangistau region — 15–20 meters per second.

During the day, in the east and center of the Kyzylorda region, including Kyzylorda, a dust storm and wind with gusts up to 15–20 meters per second are expected.

In the west and south of the Pavlodar region, light rain and snow will pass at night, with ice possible.

Fog and fire danger

Fog is forecast in the Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, in the north of the Aktobe region, in the north and east of the Karaganda region, in the mountains of the Zhambyl region and Zhetisu. It is also expected in Astana, Petropavlovsk and Pavlodar.

Extreme fire danger will persist in the Atyrau region, most of the Kyzylorda region, certain areas of the Aktobe, Karaganda and Mangistau regions, Ulytau and Zhetisu.

High fire danger is also expected in a number of districts of the West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kostanay, Almaty and Turkestan regions.
