Five forest fires were registered in Kazakhstan on August 24. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The fires were recorded in Aktobe, Karaganda, West Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions, as well as in the territory of the state forest natural reserve "Semey".
Constant monitoring of the fire situation in forests is carried out from the air and from the ground. When hotspots are detected, the necessary forces and means are sent to the place. Currently, forestry workers and specialists of the Republican State Enterprise "Kazavialesookhrana" are working on the sites.
The main task of firefighting groups is to localize the fire, prevent its spread to neighboring territories and completely eliminate the fires. Specialists also carry out work to ensure safety in areas affected by fire and prevent re-ignition.
The ministry called on residents and vacationers to comply with fire safety requirements. In particular, do not leave fires unattended and make sure that the fire is completely extinguished before leaving.
Earlier, Kursiv reported about 17-year-old Indonesian Rudians, who, together with volunteers, extinguishes forest fires on the island of Borneo, going to work in a Superman costume. From January to July, fire destroyed more than 200 thousand hectares of land in Indonesia, and the drought associated with El Niño increased the risk of new fires and complicated their extinguishing.
