Kazakhstan plans to implement 200 industrial projects worth a total of 1.7 trillion tenge in 2026, the government reported. The implementation of the projects will create about 18,000 permanent jobs. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Currently, 77 projects worth 267 billion tenge have been launched, employing 4,500 people. Once the projects reach full capacity, these industries will produce products worth about 1.5 trillion tenge annually. Of this, about 500 billion tenge worth of products will be exported.
Also this year, Kazakhstan will start producing more than 15 new types of goods that were not previously manufactured. These include unique large-sized machine-building units, special equipment, hydrogen, and complex mineral salts.
Among the industrial projects, special attention is paid to 17 breakthrough projects. These projects are aimed at developing high-value-added products, efficient use of domestic raw materials, and forming adjacent industrial clusters.
Under this program, KIA Qazaqstan plants were launched in Kostanay region and Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan in Almaty. Large industrial projects are also being implemented in the regions. In Pavlodar region, a metallurgical cluster of Mineral Product International is being created. In Abay region, modernization of the Qarmet plant and construction of a copper smelter are underway. In Atyrau region, large gas chemical complexes of Sileno and Butadiene are being built.
It is worth noting that in 2025, production in the oil and gas chemical industry doubled to 619,000 tons. In the first five months of 2026, this figure amounted to 225,300 tons.
