Seven of the ten renewable energy projects planned for 2026 have been launched in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Energy reported that this year the country plans to commission 10 renewable energy facilities with a total capacity of 245 MW. To date, 7 facilities with a capacity of 212 MW have been commissioned.

The commissioned facilities include: - A wind power plant of Aspan Energo LLP with a capacity of 50 MW in Kostanay region; - A solar power plant of Stellar Energy LLP with a capacity of 20 MW in Mangystau region; - A solar power plant of Altyn Solar Energy LLP with a capacity of 22.6 MW in Kostanay region; - A solar power plant of Jetisu Terra Power LLP with a capacity of 20 MW in Zhetysu region; - Three wind power plants of Giperboreya LLP with a total capacity of 100 MW in Karaganda region.

"By the end of this year, it is planned to complete construction and commission two solar power plant projects of Alkena LLP with a capacity of 30 MW in Kyzylorda region, as well as a small hydroelectric power plant of Tauenergo LLP with a capacity of 3.2 MW in Turkistan region," the statement said.

The implementation of renewable energy projects contributes to strengthening the country's energy security, attracting investments, creating new jobs, and increasing the share of environmentally friendly generation in Kazakhstan's energy balance.
