Kazakhstan officially registered 74,648 marriages from January to August 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The figure was announced by the Government for Citizens state corporation on Family Day.

Summer season proved especially busy

As it turned out, the summer season was especially busy. Over three months, more than 38,000 couples officially formalized their relationships.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the most popular month for marriage in Kazakhstan this year is June. In that month, 15,192 couples officially formalized their relationships.

Figures by month

In August, 11,761 couples changed their family status, while in July the figure was 11,674.

Thus, over the three summer months the number of marriages exceeded 38,000: 15,192 in June, 11,674 in July and 11,761 couples in August.

Regional leaders

The largest number of new families appeared in the city of Almaty — 12,344. It is followed by Astana, where 9,074 marriages were registered, and Turkistan Region — 5,611.

Thus, Almaty, Astana and Turkistan Region made the top three by the number of new families.
