On July 20, temperatures in several regions of Kazakhstan will rise up to 45°C, Kazhydromet reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Under the influence of a northwestern cyclone and atmospheric frontal sections, most of the republic will see changeable weather, with thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, and squalls in the west, northwest, and north. Only the south and southeast will remain dry and hot.
Winds will strengthen across the republic, with dust storms in the south. Fog is forecast for the northwest and north at night and in the morning.
In Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Abai, Ulytau regions, eastern Almaty region, eastern and mountainous areas of Zhetysu region, intense heat of 35-38°C is expected; in southern Mangystau region 38-40°C; in Turkistan region 40-44°C.
In Zhambyl region, extreme heat of 43-45°C is expected; in Almaty and Zhetysu regions 40-45°C; in southern East Kazakhstan and Abai regions 41°C. High fire danger is forecast in several regions.
