The Bureau of National Statistics has published data on births in Kazakhstan for January–April 2026. In four months, about 100,000 children were born in the country, with a record number of multiple pregnancies recorded. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In January-April 2026, 1,926 twins and 54 triplets were registered in the republic.

"In terms of the number of twins, the absolute leader is Turkistan Region – 263 cases. In second place is Almaty (245), in third – Almaty Region (175)," the statement said.

For triplets, the first place was shared by Turkistan Region, Atyrau Region, and Shymkent – 3 triplets in each region.

The total number of births in January–April 2026 reached 99,400 children. The highest birth rates were recorded in Turkistan Region (19.75 per 1,000 population), Shymkent (19.39), and Mangystau Region (19.28).

Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Almaty, doctors at City Perinatal Center No. 2 saved triplets born in serious condition at 35 weeks of pregnancy. The newborns spent a month in the hospital and weighed only 1,390 to 1,690 grams at birth.

Recall that the first triplets of 2026 were born in Kyzylorda Region at 32 weeks of pregnancy. The babies were born with extremely low weight: from 980 grams, so doctors fought for their lives for two months. Upon discharge, the parents were given commemorative gifts from the regional health department.

Earlier, it was reported that in Pavlodar Region, newborn twins were urgently delivered to a medical facility by helicopter. The children were accompanied by a sanitary aviation team on board. The flight went well, and the children were placed under the supervision of qualified doctors.
