In Kazakhstan, about 1.9 million citizens are under dynamic monitoring for cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, during screening in 2025 alone, over one and a half million Kazakhstanis were examined for early detection of heart diseases. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Health, as part of screening for early detection of arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease in 2025, 1.7 million people were examined. As a result, more than 114,000 patients had circulatory system diseases detected at early stages.

"Among those detected, 99,000 patients were diagnosed with arterial hypertension (87%), and 15,000 citizens with coronary heart disease (13%)," the statement said.

It is noted that currently, about 1.9 million patients with cardiovascular diseases are under dynamic monitoring in the country.

The ministry emphasized that since last year, the screening program has been supplemented with modern highly sensitive diagnostic methods, which increases disease detection and allows treatment to start even earlier.

"Regular monitoring, control of risk factors, and provision of necessary medications help significantly reduce the likelihood of severe consequences," the Ministry of Health believes.

According to WHO, circulatory system diseases remain the leading cause of death worldwide, claiming about 19.8 million lives annually, which is approximately 32% of all cases.

Recall that earlier the Ministry of Health summed up the work of the cardiology service. In 2025, Kazakh surgeons performed 13,000 open-heart operations and crossed the milestone by performing the hundredth heart transplant. Mortality from cardiovascular diseases in the country has decreased by more than a third over five years.
