On August 18, most regions of Kazakhstan will experience unstable weather. Kazhydromet forecasts rain and thunderstorms, with hail and squalls in some areas. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Storm warnings have been issued in most regions of the country.

Wind speeds will increase to 15–20 m/s, with gusts up to 23 m/s in the north of the North Kazakhstan region. Fog is expected in places at night and in the morning in the north, east, and center.

No precipitation is expected in the southwest and south of the country. Meanwhile, temperatures will reach +35 °C during the day in the West Kazakhstan region and up to +38 °C in the south of the Mangystau region.

In Astana, southwest winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s during the day. High fire danger remains.

In the Karaganda region, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west and north, with possible hail. Wind gusts will reach 15–20 m/s. In Karaganda city, gusts will be up to 15 m/s during the day.

In the Akmola region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s.

In the Kostanay region, rain, thunderstorms, and hail are forecast in the west, north, and east. Fog is expected in places at night and in the morning.

In the North Kazakhstan region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected. Wind gusts will reach 20 m/s, occasionally up to 23 m/s. Fog is also possible in Petropavlovsk.

In the Pavlodar region, rain with thunderstorms is expected, with hail possible in the north, east, and center. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s.

In the Abai region, rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected in the east. Wind gusts will be 15–20 m/s.

In the East Kazakhstan region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s, with fog in places at night and in the morning.

In the Almaty region and mountainous areas, brief rain and thunderstorms are expected. Wind gusts will reach 15–20 m/s. In Almaty, rain and thunderstorms are also possible in the morning and afternoon.

In the Zhetisu region, rain and thunderstorms will occur in the mountains, and winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s at night near the Alakol lakes.

In the Zhambyl region, strong northeast winds with gusts up to 15–20 m/s are expected in mountainous areas.

In the west and south of the Atyrau region, light rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day. In the West Kazakhstan region, rain with thunderstorms is expected in the north. Temperatures will rise to +35 °C.

In the Mangystau region, temperatures will reach +38 °C in the south during the day. Winds will strengthen to 15–18 m/s.

High or extreme fire danger remains in many regions of the country.
