Kazhydromet has issued a storm warning for 14 regions of Kazakhstan, as well as the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent on June 14. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to forecasters, on June 14 a thunderstorm front will cover the country: heavy rain, hail, squally winds and fog are expected in several regions. At the same time, the south and east will continue to experience intense heat up to 38°C and a high risk of wildfires.

Rain and thunderstorms are forecast in Astana, Atyrau, Akmola, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Aktobe regions, Ulytau region, as well as in Abai, East Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, Turkestan regions and Zhetysu.

The most severe weather is expected in Atyrau, Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda and Kostanay regions. In addition to rain and thunderstorms, hail, squalls and wind gusts up to 20 meters per second are possible. Fog is forecast in some areas at night and in the morning.

Residents of Astana, Kokshetau, Petropavlovsk and Karaganda should also prepare for rainy weather. In the capital, in addition to thunderstorms, hail is possible during the day.

At the same time, the east and south of the country will continue to suffer from heat. In Abai region, the air will warm up to 35–37°C, in East Kazakhstan region to 35°C, in Zhetysu to 37°C, and in Zhambyl region the temperature may reach 38°C.

Despite precipitation, high or extreme fire danger persists in most regions. The most difficult situation is expected in Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Karaganda regions, Abai region and several districts of East Kazakhstan region and Zhetysu.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that over the next three days, due to a sharp change of warm and cold air, unstable weather is expected in Kazakhstan.
