Storm warnings have been issued for most regions of Kazakhstan for August 1. Forecasters predict thunderstorms, hail, squally wind, dust storms and extreme heat up to +44°C. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kazhydromet.
Akmola Region
At night, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west, north and south. During the day, precipitation, thunderstorms, hail and squalls are forecast in the north, south and east. The southeast wind in the west, north and south will increase to 15-20 m/s. In the south and east, the air will warm up to +37°C, and extreme fire danger will persist in the west. In Kokshetau, occasional rain and thunderstorms are expected, hail is possible during the day, and wind gusts will reach 15 m/s.
Almaty Region
During the day, the northeast and east wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s in the east and mountainous areas. In some places, heat up to +39°C is expected. Extreme fire danger will persist in the north, west and south, and high fire danger in the east. In Almaty, the temperature will rise to +37°C, and extreme fire danger will persist. In Konaev, up to +39°C is expected.
Atyrau Region
During the day, light rain, thunderstorms and a dust storm are forecast in the north and east. Gusts of west and southwest wind will reach 15-18 m/s. In some places, the temperature will rise to +35°C, and extreme fire danger will persist across the region. In Atyrau, extreme fire danger will also persist.
Astana
In the second half of the day, rain, thunderstorms and hail are expected. Gusts of southeast wind will be 15-20 m/s, and during the day the air will warm up to +37°C.
East Kazakhstan Region
At night and in the morning, fog is possible in the north. During the day, rain and thunderstorms will pass in the north, east and south, with hail in some places. The southeast wind will change to southwest, with gusts reaching 15-18 m/s in the north and south. In some places, heat up to +35°C is expected, and extreme fire danger will persist in the south.
Abai Region
During the day, the southeast wind with a transition to southwest will strengthen to 15-18 m/s in the south and center. In some places, the temperature will rise to +37°C. High fire danger is expected in the south and center, and extreme fire danger in the northeast. In Semey, the air will warm up to +35°C, and high fire danger is forecast.
Kostanay Region
In the west, north and east, rain, thunderstorms, sometimes heavy precipitation are expected, and during the day hail and squalls. Gusts of southwest and west wind will be 15-20 m/s, sometimes 23-28 m/s. In the south, it will be up to +35°C. High fire danger will persist in the west, east and center, and extreme fire danger in the south and southeast. In Kostanay, rain, thunderstorms and hail are expected, and the wind will increase to 15-20 m/s.
Zhetysu Region
In the Alakol lakes area, gusts of northeast wind will reach 15-20 m/s, and during the day sometimes 25 m/s.
Mangystau Region
During the day, the northwest and north wind will strengthen to 15-18 m/s in the north, south and center. In some places, heat up to +40°C is expected. High fire danger will persist in the west and north, and extreme fire danger in the northeast and center. In Aktau, high fire danger will persist.
Turkistan Region
During the day, a dust storm is expected in the west and north. The northeast wind will strengthen to 15-20 m/s in the west, north, mountainous and foothill areas. High fire danger is expected in the north, and extreme fire danger will persist in the east. In Pavlodar, short-term rain and thunderstorms are also expected, with possible hail and squalls. The wind will increase to 15-20 m/s, and during the day up to +36°C is expected.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that unstable weather with extreme heat will persist in Kazakhstan in the coming days, and heavy rain, hail and storm winds are expected in the northern and central regions. According to Kazhydromet's forecast, from August 1 the temperature will begin to gradually decrease, primarily in the west of the country, but in many regions it will remain above the climatic norm.
