In January-July 2026, Kazakhstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.1%. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of National Economy, this figure is the same as in the first half of the year. According to preliminary data from the Bureau of National Statistics, positive dynamics in the economy persisted despite a decline in oil production by 8.9% (to 53.2 million tons) and fluctuations in the global market.

The ministry's statement reads: "Economic growth is mainly driven by non-commodity sectors. According to the Ministry of National Economy, these sectors grew by 5.4% in the seven months of this year."

One of the key drivers of the economy is the manufacturing industry. Additionally, growth was recorded in construction by 15.3%, transport and warehousing by 7.4%, trade by 5.9%, agriculture by 5%, and communications by 4.3%.

It is worth noting that as a result of gradual diversification, the role of the oil sector in the economy has significantly decreased. Ministry experts say: "For example, by the end of 2025, the share of oil production in the GDP structure decreased to 7.8%."
