53% of 1 million Kazakhstani citizens in need of housing are under 35, with about 565,000 young people requiring their own home. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The bank noted that access to housing remains a pressing issue for Kazakh youth. The register of those in need of housing in Kazakhstan includes 1 million people, of whom 53% are under 35. Among age groups, the highest demand for housing is observed among the youngest: 21% of all those in need are Kazakhstani citizens under 25, 13.5% are aged 25-29, and another 18.5% are aged 30-34.

The shortage persists despite Otbasy Bank's own programs. Over the bank's entire history, 283,000 families under 35 have purchased their own homes. In the last 2.5 years alone, 68,000 families have celebrated housewarming.

The "Nauryz" program plays a major role in helping young people acquire housing. Of the 20,000 loans issued under it, 12,500 went to Kazakhstani citizens under 35. Thanks to preferential regional programs, 12,400 young families have purchased housing.

"For us, these are not just numbers. Behind each one is a real story of a person who found their home. When young people buy an apartment, they tie their future to Kazakhstan, to their city. Therefore, every young family that celebrates a housewarming is a contribution to the country's development," said Lyazzat Ibragimova, Chairperson of the Board of Otbasy Bank.

Earlier it was reported that young Kazakhstani citizens aged 16-24 receive the lowest salaries compared to other age groups.
