Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on expanded cooperation in countering terrorism and extremism. On behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the document was signed by Prosecutor General Berik Asylov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The main goal of the agreement is to create a unified information field for the supervisory bodies of the six states to counter threats to the sovereignty, political and economic stability of the participating countries.

The document provides for prompt real-time data exchange in the following areas:

  • 01Countering terrorism and extremism;
  • 02Preventing threats to the sovereignty, political and economic stability of the participating countries;
  • 03Information exchange between law enforcement and supervisory bodies.

The agreement separately emphasizes the participants' concern about the risks of the rehabilitation of Nazism and the growing activity of illegal armed groups.

Earlier, the Kurultai considered three important draft laws aimed at ratifying international agreements for data exchange with foreign colleagues and countering cross-border crime.

It is worth noting that among the six states that signed the document are Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The main content of the agreement is aimed at deepening cooperation between the supervisory bodies of these countries.

In addition, the agreement emphasizes the importance of joint actions in the fight against extremism and terrorism. According to the document, the parties undertake to accelerate information exchange and jointly counter threats.

This initiative is expected to contribute to strengthening regional security and combating cross-border crime. However, the full text of the agreement and the mechanisms for its implementation have not yet been published.

Recall that earlier the Kurultai considered three important draft laws aimed at ratifying international agreements for data exchange with foreign colleagues and countering cross-border crime. These steps are aimed at expanding Kazakhstan's cooperation in the field of international security.

Thus, the joint efforts of the six states bring the fight against extremism and terrorism to a new level, making it possible to ensure security by creating a common information space.
