Active construction of the Kazakhstan sanatorium on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan is underway. Completion is planned for the fourth quarter of this year, the Ministry of Finance reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Finance Minister Madi Takiyev visited the construction sites of four Kazakhstani sanatoriums being built in Kyrgyzstan. For the Kazakhstan sanatorium, construction is on schedule, with completion planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. The project envisions creating a sanatorium-resort complex that meets modern requirements.

Earlier, the Presidential Administration reported that the Kazakhstan sanatorium would accommodate 180 guests. It was first opened in 1962 and remained one of the well-known recreation and health improvement destinations for decades.

The complex will include a main building and cottages with rooms. The sanatorium will feature a medical building, a sports and wellness complex, an indoor pool, open pools with mineral and fresh water, sports grounds, bicycle paths, restaurants, coffee shops, conference halls, and a cinema. Mud therapy, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, reflexology, and other types of medical rehabilitation programs will be available.

Project documentation is being developed for three more Kazakhstani facilities on the shore of Issyk-Kul. These are reportedly the Samal holiday home with a capacity of up to 500 people, the University sports and recreation camp in the village of Bosteri, and the Olimp sports and recreation center.

The Ministry of Finance noted that the projects should create comfortable conditions for recreation and health improvement for Kazakhstani citizens, as well as increase the tourist attractiveness of Kazakhstani recreational facilities on the Issyk-Kul coast.

Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan is again studying the possibility of building a highway that would directly connect Almaty with the Issyk-Kul coast.
