Kazakhstan took 34th place in the Most Powerful Countries 2026 table published on the World Population Review platform. The republic placed between Hungary and Egypt, ahead of Denmark, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Denmark is in 36th position, the UAE — 37th, the Republic of South Africa — 38th, Norway — 39th. Saudi Arabia occupies 40th place, Pakistan — 42nd, Iran — 46th.

Among the post-Soviet states presented in the table, only Russia placed above Kazakhstan — in 11th place. Ukraine took 51st place, Lithuania — 56th, Belarus — 57th, Uzbekistan — 71st.

The top three were China, the United States and India. They are followed by Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Italy.

World Population Review cites the international influence ranking of countries with reference to U.S. News & World Report. Its explanation lists five criteria: leadership, economic and political influence, international alliances and military power. The place in the list is designated as Power Rank: the lower the number, the higher the country's position.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Kazakhstan took 38th place in the economic competitiveness ranking of the Swiss IMD center, ahead of Spain, Portugal, Poland and Italy. The study evaluates countries by economic indicators, government and business efficiency, as well as the state of infrastructure.
