Kazakhstan's women's volleyball team defeated Lebanon 3-0 (25:11, 25:19, 25:14) to advance to the semifinals of the Asian Nations Cup being held in the Philippines. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In the penultimate match of the group stage, the Kazakh girls faced Lebanon, who were in last place. In the match against the outsiders, the coaches tested the reserve players. The substitutes, who received more playing time than usual, did not disappoint.

Both Kazakhstan and Vietnam will do everything to win the group and avoid meeting South Korea in the semifinals. The tournament favorites are marching through Group A without losing a single set so far.

The Asia-Pacific Nations Cup, formerly known as the Challenge Cup, is being held for the fifth time. The twelve best teams on the continent were divided into two groups of six. After a single round-robin tournament, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The remaining teams will compete for places 5th through 12th. The tournament will conclude on June 14.
