Kazakhstan's triathlon team finished seventh in the mixed relay at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The team consisted of Diana Yerzhanova, Yegor Krupyakov, Aida Kim and Ayan Beisenbayev. The quartet covered the distance in 1 hour 31 minutes 45 seconds. The Kazakh athletes finished 5 minutes 51 seconds behind the winners.
Winners and medalists
China won the gold medals with a result of 1:25:54. Japan took second place with 1:26:45, and bronze went to Hong Kong with 1:27:25.

Relay format and venue
In the mixed relay, each of the four participants completes their own leg, which includes 300 m of swimming, 6.6 km of cycling and 2 km of running. The competition took place in the Japanese city of Gamagori.

A day earlier, Arlan Zhanabay won bronze in the men's individual triathlon, bringing Kazakhstan its first medal of the 2026 Asian Games. Diana Yerzhanova finished 17th in the women's race.
The XX Summer Asian Games in Japan officially opened on September 19. Athletes from 45 countries are competing for 460 sets of medals. Of these, 217 are for men, 204 for women and 39 in mixed events. The tournaments will be held in 68 disciplines across 41 sports.
Kazakhstan's team at the 2026 Asian Games will feature 559 athletes. The day before, the Kazakh team won four gold medals. The champions of the Games were cyclists Rinata Sultanova and Alexey Lutsenko, as well as karatekas Zholaman Bigabyl and Sofya Berultseva.
