Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev sent a letter to Chairperson of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council Valentina Matvienko, inviting representatives of the organization to participate in international observation of the first Kurultai elections. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

For CIS IPA observers, this will be the 21st mission in Kazakhstan and the 170th in the history of their observation activities. The Assembly has been monitoring elections and referendums since 1994 — the first CIS IPA group began its work in Kazakhstan, the press service of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council Secretariat noted.

Voting will take place on August 23, 2026.
