Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company JSC has set a record for grain loading in September. According to the company, 1.45 million tonnes of grain were transported last month. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Record figure
The 1.45 million tonnes loaded is the largest volume of grain loading in September. Compared to September last year, the increase was 7%.
Export volume
1.2 million tonnes of grain were sent for export, an increase of 13%.
The main volume goes to Central Asian countries — 701 thousand tonnes (+8%). Of this, 512 thousand tonnes (+14%) were sent to Uzbekistan.
Shipments to Afghanistan and China
Shipments to Afghanistan increased 3.4 times, to 107 thousand tonnes. Shipments to China rose 2.8 times, to 188 thousand tonnes.
Milled products
In September, transportation of milled products amounted to 274 thousand tonnes (+13%), including 230 thousand tonnes for export (+27%).
Nine-month results
In the first nine months of 2026, 10.8 million tonnes of grain were transported by rail, which is 12% more than in the same period last year. 8.4 million tonnes (+14%) were sent for export.
Earlier, the ministry presented a report on whether there would be a record grain harvest this year.
