Kazakhstan's exports in the first half of 2026 amounted to $40.3 billion, an increase of 8.6% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration, exports of domestic goods increased from $37.1 billion to $40.3 billion in January-June. Among the countries that most increased purchases of Kazakh goods over the year are Turkey (94.3%), France (45.2%), Uzbekistan (39.5%), and Germany (about 10%).

Changes in export structure

In January-June of this year, exports of copper and copper products increased by about 58% — from $1.8 billion to $2.84 billion. Exports of copper ores and concentrates increased by 43% — from $1.44 billion to $2.05 billion.

As the ministry noted, oil and petroleum products still account for a significant share of exports. However, supplies of metals, ores, and other commodity groups are also growing.

Imports and trade balance

Over the half-year, imports increased by 5.4% to $31.5 billion. Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover increased by 7.2% to $71.8 billion. The positive balance of foreign trade amounted to about $8.9 billion.
