The Government of Kazakhstan has significantly increased the number of state educational grants for the 2025–2026 academic year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Over the past five years, the number of state educational grants has increased by approximately 30,000. In the 2025–2026 academic year, the total number of grants reached 93,232. Of these, 77,084 grants were allocated for bachelor's programs, 13,229 for master's programs, and 2,919 for doctoral programs.
According to the government, additional support is provided to applicants. Grants are also offered by local executive bodies, industry associations, higher education institutions, and public foundations. This allows increasing the number of applicants covered by support measures in the field of education.
In addition, a preferential educational loan operates in the country. Since 2025, the "Keleshek" savings system has been launched, allowing families to save funds for children's education in advance. Currently, tens of thousands of families have already taken advantage of this opportunity.
The government also addressed the issue of dormitories for university students. In recent years, dozens of new dormitories have been commissioned in Kazakhstan, significantly reducing the shortage of places in most regions. From 2018 to 2025, a total of 281 dormitories with 72,125 places were built, reconstructed, and commissioned.
