Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi took part in a working meeting of foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states. The talks were held in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Participants exchanged views on current issues on the General Assembly's agenda. They paid special attention to priority areas of CSTO cooperation with the UN.
As noted by the Kazakh foreign policy agency, the meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. Following its results, the parties confirmed their intention to develop further interaction between the two organizations.
The CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The organization's main goal is to ensure the collective security of its member states.
The 81st session of the UN General Assembly is being held in New York, with heads of state and government and foreign ministers from around the world taking part. The session discusses international security, sustainable development and current global issues.
