The Border Service of the National Security Committee has published the results of its operations for July. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to official data, 4,975 violators of Kazakhstan's legislation were detained in the border area, including 4,346 foreign citizens.

A total of 2,476 cases of illegal movement of goods and cargo across the border were prevented, amounting to 3.9 billion tenge, including:

  • 0139 cases – narcotic substances;
  • 0288 cases – weapons and ammunition (108 units of cold steel, 2,131 units of ammunition);
  • 031,808 cases – fuel and lubricants exceeding 150 tons, totaling 33.4 million tenge;
  • 04392 cases – consumer goods worth over 1.3 billion tenge;
  • 05149 cases – foreign currency worth approximately 2.1 billion tenge.

In the Caspian Sea area, 34 cases of poaching were prevented. 24.6 km of poaching gear, as well as 103 sturgeon fish (580 kg), were confiscated.

"The prevented damage amounted to more than 251 million tenge," the statement said.

In this regard, 63 criminal cases have been initiated and investigative measures are underway. Additionally, 4,295 administrative cases are in progress, with fines totaling over 38 million tenge, the border guards said.
