Kazakhstan's men's fencing team has won the gold medal at the XX Summer Asian Games held in Aichi–Nagoya (Japan). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In the final of the team epee competition, Kazakh fencers faced the South Korean team. In the decisive match, the Kazakhstan team overcame its opponent and became the champion of the Asian Games.
This gold continues the bright victories of Kazakh fencers this season: in June they became Asian champions, in July – world champions, in September – Asian Games champions.
Thus, Kazakhstan's men's fencing team, within a few months, won at the Asian Championship, the World Championship and the Asian Games, taking gold medals at three major tournaments in a row.
It is worth noting that at these Asian Games, Kazakh epee fencers also won a medal in the individual event. Kirill Prokhodov faced Japan's representative, two-time Olympic champion Koki Kano, in the final, lost 13:15 and won the silver medal.
