At the III Russia-Kazakhstan Media Forum held in St. Petersburg, Kazakh officials proposed a transition to joint media content production. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Kanat Kulshymanov, head of the communications department of the Kazakh presidential administration, media outlets of Russia and Kazakhstan could establish a joint information verification center to help work with disputed information, as well as launch joint media content production.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, in his speech, expressed hope that Kazakh media representatives understand the objective causes of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Kyiv, while seeking to harm Russia, is also striking at Kazakhstan's interests.
"As an example, one can cite several attacks on the facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which plays an important role in Kazakhstan's economy," he said.
The Kazakh side declared its readiness for cooperation. "The Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is ready to work with Russian colleagues in the direction of verifying data in news, improving the culture of fact-checking and media literacy of the audience," said Raushan Kazhybayeva, director of the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The forum was held in St. Petersburg.
