Kazakhstan is one of Russia's leading partners in the CIS space, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Cooperation between Moscow and Astana in the economy is multifaceted, he noted. "This is the largest economy in Central Asia, this is one of our leading partners in the CIS space, our strategic partner. Cooperation in the economic sphere is truly multifaceted," Peskov said.
He also noted that the countries are developing humanitarian and cultural interaction, as well as cooperation in all possible areas. "Work is ongoing. This does not mean that relations are discussed only in connection with any high-level meetings. This is daily painstaking work involving full cabinets of ministers from both sides," Peskov emphasized.
On July 25, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin will meet in Omsk at the XII Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan and hold negotiations.
