Around 400 trucks heading to Kyrgyzstan have accumulated at the Karasu automobile checkpoint in the Zhambyl region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) attributed the increased queue to the seasonal growth of international freight traffic, as well as temperature restrictions for freight transport in force in Kyrgyzstan.
To increase the throughput capacity of the checkpoint, the work of employees has been intensified. Together with the internal affairs bodies, they regulate traffic flows, and some trucks are redirected to nearby checkpoints. The Kazakh side also maintains contact with the competent authorities of Kyrgyzstan.
"The SRC recommends carriers to take into account the current situation when planning routes," the committee said.
For drivers and carriers, an information channel operates in messengers, where current data on queues at the border and alternative routes are published. Explanatory work is also carried out with drivers in front of the checkpoint.
