At the Karasu automobile checkpoint in Zhambyl region, about 400 trucks heading to the Kyrgyz Republic have accumulated, the State Revenue Committee reports. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The committee noted that the traffic jam has temporarily increased due to several factors. "In particular, the seasonal growth of international freight traffic and temperature restrictions introduced on the movement of trucks on the territory of Kyrgyzstan," the statement said.
To stabilize the situation and increase the capacity of the checkpoint, the State Revenue Committee, together with interested state bodies, is taking necessary measures. Work at the checkpoint has been intensified, traffic flows are being regulated jointly with internal affairs bodies, some vehicles are being redirected to nearby checkpoints, and constant interaction is being conducted with the competent authorities of Kyrgyzstan to promptly assess the situation and coordinate measures taken.
To inform carriers and drivers, an information channel operates in messengers, where current information about the situation at checkpoints and alternative routes is published. Explanatory work is also being carried out with drivers in front of the checkpoint.
The State Revenue Committee asks carriers to take into account the current situation when planning routes. The situation is under control.
