The Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) has agreed with John van 't Schip to work as the head coach of the national team. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the federation's charter, the KFF Executive Committee must also give its consent. After that, a contract will be signed with the coach.
Coaching staff formed
The coaching staff of the Kazakhstan national team has also been formed. The head coach's assistants will be Nurbol Zhumaskaliyev and Yeldos Akhmetov, goalkeeping coach Yuri Novikov, fitness coach Vadim Borovsky, and Timur Kusainov will serve as an expert coach.
John van 't Schip's achievements
John van 't Schip previously played for Ajax Amsterdam and Italy's Genoa. With this team, he also became the 1988 European Champion.
He began his coaching career at Ajax, where he served as head coach. He also led Twente, Zwolle, Mexico's Guadalajara, and Australia's Melbourne City. In 2016, he won the Australia Cup with Melbourne City.
John van 't Schip has also been head coach of the national teams of Greece and Armenia.
