About 700 gifted students from 117 countries participated in one of the world's most prestigious and oldest intellectual competitions. According to the Ministry of Education, the Kazakhstan team won 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
The International Mathematical Olympiad has been held since 1959 and is one of the most prestigious and oldest subject olympiads in the world. Kazakhstan has been participating in this competition since 1992. During this time, the national team has taken part in the olympiad 34 times, winning 16 gold, 54 silver, and 86 bronze medals, as well as 30 honorable mentions.
