The Kazakhstan national team took first place in the overall team standings at the Asian Junior and Youth Weightlifting Championship. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kazakh weightlifters won 59 medals, including 19 gold medals. The national team athletes updated 16 records — 11 Asian and 5 world records.
Athletes with outstanding results
One of the athletes who showed outstanding results at the championship was Snezhana Kashkarova. She updated three Asian and three world records, and was named the best athlete of the Asian Weightlifting Championship based on the results of the competition.
And Ksenia Prozorova set two more world records during the competition, according to a statement from the sports committee.
Venue of the championship
It should be noted that the Asian Championship among girls under 17 and youth under 20 was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
