Kazakhstan has secured its first gold medal. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Karim Nurtalap became the champion of the 6th World Nomad Games in audaryspak in the weight category up to 60 kilograms. In the final, our compatriot defeated an athlete from Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier, Karim won against a representative of Uzbekistan and advanced to the next stage.
This year, the competitions are held from August 31 to September 6 in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic. About 3,000 athletes from more than 100 countries are competing.
Awards are contested in 43 types of competitions, including national sports of the Kazakh people. More than 150 athletes represent Kazakhstan. Our compatriots compete in all 43 sports.
