Exports of fresh cucumbers from Kazakhstan to Russia's Perm Krai have surged. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the regional office of Rosselkhoznadzor, since the beginning of 2026, almost 1,700 tons of vegetables have been imported into the region. This is 3.8 times more than in the same period last year, when supplies amounted to 429 tons.
Incidentally, the latest batch of 18 tons arrived in Perm Krai on July 15. Before being allowed on the market, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists selected samples for laboratory tests. The analyses did not detect any quarantine objects, after which the batch was authorized for sale and use as intended.
The increase in supplies indicates a rise in exports of Kazakh vegetable products to the Russian market. At the same time, each batch undergoes mandatory phytosanitary control before going on sale.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Kazakhstan had refused Russian cucumbers.
