A BOT agreement has been signed for the construction of a Kazakh transport and logistics terminal in Iran's Shahid Rajaee port. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) agreement, a land plot will first be allocated for the terminal construction. The first 2 years are designated for construction, and the subsequent 25 years for operation of the facility.
"The creation of a Kazakhstan terminal in one of Iran's largest ports will increase the transit potential of the international transport corridor 'North-South', strengthen the stability of logistics routes, and expand opportunities for Kazakh products to enter the markets of the Persian Gulf countries, South and Southeast Asia, and East Africa," the official statement said.
It is noted that Shahid Rajaee port is located in the city of Bandar Abbas on the northern coast of the Strait of Hormuz.
