On June 27, three forest fires broke out in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan, forest fires were registered on the territory of the state forest fund in two regions of Kazakhstan. The fires were promptly detected and extinguished by forest guards in cooperation with special services.
"The causes of the fires were lightning discharges," the ministry reported.
Kazakhstanis were urged to comply with fire safety rules and take care of the country's forest resources.
Earlier, Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurken Sharbiyev shared alarming statistics: since the beginning of 2026, 87 fires have occurred in state forest funds in Kazakhstan. This is the highest figure in the last three years.
He cited lightning discharges as the main cause of fires, as they are impossible to predict. Another common cause is the transfer of fire from forest burning.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that thunderstorms with hail and heat up to +37 degrees Celsius are expected in Kazakhstan on June 29.
The Ministry of Ecology calls on citizens to strictly observe fire safety rules in forests, not to light fires, not to litter, and to immediately call 112 if a fire is detected. Preventing forest fires is the duty of every citizen, the ministry emphasized.
