Over the past day, 13 fires were registered on the territory of the state forest fund of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Most of the hotspots were detected using aerial patrol and early detection systems, the relevant department reported.
Fires by region
Two fires occurred in the East Kazakhstan region. One fire each was registered in the Karaganda region, the Markakol and Korgalzhyn state nature reserves, the Bayanaul National Park, and on the territory of the RSE "Zhasyl Aimak".
Two more fires were recorded in the Karkaraly National Park and the state forest nature reserves "Ertis Ormany" and "Semey Ormany".
Firefighting efforts
After receiving reports, forest institution employees were dispatched to the fire sites. The extinguishing involved a Mi-8 helicopter of "Kazavialesookhrana" with a water-discharge device, an aviation fire service, and units of the state forest guard.
In some regions, elimination of remaining hotspots continues.
Fire danger level
Due to heat and the passage of thunderstorm fronts, a high level of fire danger remains in Kazakhstan. The State Forest Guard and "Kazavialesookhrana" continue aerial and ground patrol of the forest fund in an enhanced mode.
Situation over the previous day
The day before, in the Akmola region alone, nine hotspots of dry vegetation with a total area of more than 230 hectares were eliminated in a day. The fires occurred in Atbasar, Akkol, Tselinograd, Zhaksy and Korgalzhyn districts. Units of the Emergency Situations Department, "Kazaviaspas", local executive bodies, forest institutions and other services were involved in extinguishing.
