Five forest fires were recorded and contained in five regions of Kazakhstan in one day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan reported that five forest fires were recorded and localized in different regions of the country in one day. The fire sources were detected during aerial patrols in Kostanay region, Pavlodar region, as well as on the territories of Katon-Karagay National Park, Semey Ormany State Forest Nature Reserve, and Zhasyl Aimak Republican State Enterprise.
Thanks to the use of special equipment and a helicopter, the fires were quickly extinguished without the threat of further spread. "Due to the expected abnormally hot weather in the republic, we urge citizens vacationing in nature to strictly comply with fire safety requirements," the Ministry of Ecology noted.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a fire at a landfill in Astana has been extinguished for 16 hours. The work is complicated by high smoke and the loose state of the garbage.
