The 22nd Russia-Kazakhstan interregional cooperation forum will be held in Omsk on July 24-25. On the eve of the large-scale event, Governor of Omsk region Vitaly Khotsenko met with Kazakhstan's ambassador to Russia Dauren Abayev. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
It is a great honor for the region to host the forum for the third time, Khotsenko said. He emphasized the importance of strengthening good-neighborly relations and expanding interregional cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the business program of the forum, which includes round tables on logistics and industrial cooperation, a youth forum, a meeting of the business council, a contact exchange, and a thematic exhibition. Following the meeting, interest in further development of trade, economic and humanitarian ties was confirmed, the government of Omsk region reported.
It was also noted that Kazakhstan remains one of the main foreign trade partners of Omsk region, and the growth in trade turnover confirms the high level of cooperation.
"I am confident that today's dialogue will become another brick in the foundation of strong friendship between Russia and Kazakhstan and will only strengthen our countries," Khotsenko said at the meeting with Abayev.
Omsk is actively preparing for the forum. From July 23 to 25, the logo of the 22nd Russia-Kazakhstan interregional cooperation forum will be displayed on the facade of the city TV tower along with the flags of the two countries. The logo will be illuminated in the evening and at night.
Omsk buses, trolleybuses and trams are decorated with the flags of Russia and Kazakhstan. A total of 219 vehicles with state symbols travel along the city streets.
