The Ministry of Energy issued a statement regarding the incident near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's marine terminal. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the ministry, on July 17, an unmanned aerial vehicle attacked the tanker 'Nordic Zenith'. The vessel was heading to port for oil loading and was empty at the time of the attack. The tanker crew quickly extinguished the fire on their own. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.

'There is no threat to Kazakhstan's oil,' the Ministry of Energy reported. The ministry also noted that the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's technological infrastructure is operating normally. The company is conducting loading operations as usual and continues to pump oil into tankers according to the established schedule.
