Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas (KMG) Askar Khasenov met in Astana with Chevron Corporation's President of Upstream Clay Neff. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The parties discussed the current state of interaction in key areas of cooperation, including plans for further development of the Tengiz field, with a focus on ensuring stable operations and industrial safety of Tengizchevroil LLP.
Additionally, KMG and Chevron considered cooperation in geological exploration. Currently, the companies are exploring opportunities for interaction within promising geological exploration projects in Kazakhstan.
Separately, the meeting addressed issues of delivering Kazakh oil to the global market via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and an additional export route — the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
